Arts Exchange with Saint Petersburg Repin Academy of Fine Arts

21 June - 3 July 2025

This 2025 cultural journey, organized by the Hong Kong Oil Painting Research Society, centers on a targeted, fruitful art exchange residency at the world-renowned Ilya Repin St. Petersburg State Academy of Fine Arts in Russia.

The itinerary is structured to merge immersive academic immersion, cross-cultural creative dialogue and on-ground realist art heritage exploration: core activities include closed-door technical week long workshops led by Repin Academy’s veteran oil painting faculty, where Hong Kong participating artists dive into the institution’s iconic layered realist painting techniques and receive one-on-one feedback on their urban-themed works. This trip concluding with a mutual collaboration framework to launch future reciprocal artist residency programs between the two art groups.
